1. Introduction and Definitions

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to the Questie application ("Application", "Service", "Platform"), operated by Questie ("Company", "we", "us", "our").

The Application is a family management platform for task management, children's financial education, and a rewards system, designed for use by parents and their children ("Users", "you").

Definitions

• "Parent" / "Family Manager" - An adult user registered as a parent, grandparent, uncle/aunt, or any other responsible adult.
• "Child" - A user registered under a family account as a child, of any age.
• "Family" - The unit of users linked under a single family code.
• "Personal Information" - Any information that identifies or may identify a person, including name, phone number, gender, usage data, and device data.
• "User Content" - Any content created by the user, including task names, goals, profile pictures, and activity data.

3. Use of Information

We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:

• Service Operation: Managing family tasks, rewards system, goal tracking, savings, competitions, and virtual store.
• Authentication and Identification: User verification via SMS, family permission management.
• Notifications: Sending push notifications regarding tasks, goals, parental approvals, and family updates.
• Service Improvement: Analyzing general (non-personal) usage patterns to improve user experience.
• Security: Detecting and preventing misuse, operating a ban system for violating users.
• Support: Providing customer service and resolving technical issues.

4. Third-Party Services

The Application uses Google LLC's Firebase services as its technical infrastructure:

Firebase services are subject to Firebase Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy. Google processes data in accordance with strict security standards and holds ISO 27001, SOC 2, and SOC 3 certifications.

4.2 Content Filtering and Child Protection

To protect user safety, particularly children, the Application uses OpenAI's artificial intelligence services:

OpenAI services are subject to OpenAI Terms of Use and OpenAI Privacy Policy.

5. Children's Privacy

5.1 Parental Consent

• Registration of a child to the Application is performed exclusively by a parent/responsible adult registered in the system.
• Adding a child to a family constitutes express parental consent to the collection and processing of the child's information as detailed in this Policy.
• The registering parent confirms that they are the child's legal guardian or have received explicit authorization from the legal guardian.
• The parent bears full and exclusive responsibility for their children's use of the Application and all consequences arising therefrom.

5.2 Protection of Children's Data

• Children's data is accessible only to approved family members within the same family unit.
• The permission system allows parents to control the access level of each family member.
• Children cannot perform administrative actions without explicit authorization.
• Children may log in anonymously (without a phone number), subject to a parent's invitation.

5.3 COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)

To the extent Users are located in the United States, usage is subject to COPPA. The Application requires parental involvement in creating child accounts. The parent's continued use of the Application for managing a child's account constitutes Verifiable Parental Consent.

5.4 GDPR-K (General Data Protection Regulation - Children)

To the extent Users are located in the European Union, processing of children's data under the age of 16 (or the lower age established in the relevant member state) requires parental consent. Registration of a child in the Application by a parent constitutes such consent.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard reasonable security measures to protect information:

• Encryption in Transit: All communications are encrypted using TLS/SSL.
• Access Rules: Firestore Security Rules enforce role-based access control (parent/child).
• Data Isolation: Each family is isolated from other families' data by default. In the future, limited sharing options between families may be added with mutual parental consent.
• Secure Storage: Sensitive data is stored in Secure Storage on the device.
• Permission Management: Granular permission system for each family member.
• Ban System: Ability to block violating users.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

7.1 Retention Period

• User information is retained as long as the account is active.
• Activity data (tasks, points, purchases) is retained for continuity of user experience.
• Anonymous children's accounts - data is deleted upon logout if no family connection exists.

7.2 Data Deletion

• In-App Deletion: Accounts can be deleted directly from the Application settings:
  • Family Creator: Can delete the entire family, including all family members and all associated data.
  • Other Family Members: Can delete themselves from the family and their personal data.
• Deletion is final and irreversible - we cannot recover deleted data.
• We may retain minimal information as required by law or for fraud prevention.

7.3 Alternative Account Deletion Request

If you are unable to delete from within the Application, you may contact us via email at: contact@questie.net with the following details: full name, phone number associated with the account, and confirmation that you are requesting deletion of all data.

In accordance with applicable privacy laws, Users have the following rights:

• Right of Access: To request a copy of your personal information.
• Right of Rectification: To request correction of inaccurate or outdated information.
• Right of Erasure: To request deletion of your personal information ("right to be forgotten").
• Right to Restrict Processing: To request limitation on how your information is processed.
• Right to Data Portability: To request transfer of your data in a structured format.
• Right to Object: To object to certain processing of your information.
• Withdrawal of Consent: To withdraw your consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal).

9. International Data Transfer

User data is processed and stored using Google Firebase cloud services, which may maintain servers in various countries around the world, including the United States.

Use of the Application constitutes express consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of data outside your country of residence, subject to the protective measures provided by Google.

10. Changes to This Policy

• We reserve the right to update this Policy at any time, at our sole discretion.
• Material changes will be published within the Application and/or via notification.
• Continued use of the Application after a Policy update constitutes consent to the changes.
• It is the User's responsibility to review this Policy periodically.

This Policy is governed exclusively by the laws of the State of Israel. Any dispute arising from or related to the use of the Application shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the Tel Aviv-Jaffa district, Israel.
